Offer DescriptionCALL FOR PROPOSALS FOR TWO RESEARCH GRANTS WITHIN THE SCOPE OF THE WORK PSYCHOLOGY CONSULTING SERVICE OF THE FACULTY OF PSYCHOLOGY AND EDUCATION SCIENCES OF THE UNIVERSITY OF PORTOA call for applications is open for two research grants within the scope of the Work Psychology Consulting Service (SCPT) of the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences of the University of Porto (FPCEUP), financed by its own funds, under the coordination of Prof. Dr. Marta Santos, under the following conditions:1. Research field/Scientific area: Psychology2. Admission requirements:All individuals of legal age who meet the following requirements, with documentary proof, can apply for this research grant: * Master's Degree or Integrated Master's Degree in Psychology
  • Be enrolled in a doctoral program or meet the necessary conditions to be enrolled in a doctoral program, a requirement to be proven at the time of hiring. Alternatively, applicants may be enrolled in a non-degree course that is part of the educational project of a higher education institution, developed in association or cooperation with one or more R&D units, a requirement to be proven at the time of recruitment;
  • Have completed a curricular internship in the field of Organizational, Social and Work Psychology;
  • Present a proposal for the work plan to be developed, taking into account the theme of the project "How to work on the development of professional paths with different audiences, considering the point of view of work psychology?" (maximum limit of 2 pages).
  • If the candidate holds a Master degree awarded by a foreign higher education institution, it must be recognised by a Portuguese higher education institution, in accordance with the provisions of article 25 of Decree-Law no. 66/2018 of 16 August, which approves the legal regime for the recognition of academic degrees and higher education diplomas awarded by foreign higher education institutions, and Article 4 (2) (e) of Decree-Law no. 60/2018 of 3 August, and any formalities established therein be fulfilled up to the date of the contracting act.
3. Preferred requirements (for which documentary evidence must be provided): * Master's Degree or Integrated Master's Degree in Psychology with a final grade equal to or greater than 16 points in the final average;
  • Have experience of participating in consultancy projects in Work Psychology, particularly in the area of Employability and the development of professional paths at different stages of the approach to the job market;
  • Have experience in developing and managing content and events in the context of developing paths for young people in higher education;
  • Proficiency in Portuguese and English;
  • Proven mastery of quantitative and/or qualitative methodologies;
  • Availability for short-term national travel (to be mentioned in the letter of motivation).
  • Work plan:
The research fellows will support the research activities of the projects in progress at the Work Psychology Consulting Service, particularly those related to the development of professional paths: * Reviewing and systematizing the literature;
  • Participation in planning the research work to be carried out;
  • Data collection and analysis;
  • Returning the data to the study participants and the company;
  • Participation in writing reports, scientific articles and other dissemination materials and supports.
  • Applicable legislation and regulations:
Statute of the Research Fellow, approved by Law no. 40/2004, of August 18, in the wording currently in force and Regulation of Research Fellowships of the University of Porto - Regulation 184/2021, of March 3.
  • Workplace:
The work will be carried out in Porto, at the facilities of the Work Psychology Consulting Service of the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences of the University of Porto (FPCEUP) or in other places necessary for the execution of the work plan, under the scientific supervision of Prof. Dr. Marta Santos.
  • Duration of the research grant:
The grant will last for 12 months. The grant contract, on an exclusivity basis, may be renewed, for equal or different periods, according to institutional needs and financial availability, up to the maximum limit of the duration of the project.
  • Monthly maintenace Grant amout:
8.1. The amount of the grant is €1,259.64, according to the table and Annex I of the Research Grant Regulations of the University of Porto, updated by the Rector's Order No. GR04/02/2024 of February 14, 2024, which changes the value of the research grants of the University of Porto for the year 2024.8.2. Payment will be made by FPCEUP by bank transfer. In addition to this payment, the grant holder will be covered by personal accident insurance..8.3. The grant fellow can join the Voluntary Social Insurance Scheme (valid for a grant contract of six months or more), which is optional and the reimbursement corresponds to the 1st step of the contribution base.
  • Selection methods:
9.1. Selection will be made by curricular assessment (CA; 70%). The selection process may be complemented by a professional interview (E), if the Jury deems it necessary, for the five (5) candidates who are best classified in the curricular assessment. The interview, if held, will have a weighting of 30% in the final ranking. The final classification, after the interview, will be obtained by the following formula: CA * 0,7 + E * 0,3, on a scale of 0 to 100 points. If there is no interview, the final classification will be the same as that obtained in the curricular assessment.9.2. The CA will take into account the following evaluation factors and weighting criteria:a) Suitability of the training area, classification of academic qualifications and specific knowledge in the area of Organizational, Social and Work Psychology - 20%;b) Experience in the development and management of content and events within the scope of the development of pathways for young people attending higher education - 25%;c) Experience in the use of quantitative and/or qualitative methodologies - 10%;d) Proficiency in English, as evidenced by the letter of motivation - 10%.e) Work plan proposal referred to in the admission requirements - 35%.9.3 The interview, if held, will assess:a) Ability to express oneself and verbal fluency in Portuguese and English - 40%;b) Specific knowledge of how to carry out the work plan - 60%.If the first-placed candidate withdraws, the Faculty's highest body reserves the right to call the next candidate and so on until the position is filled, based on a judgment of convenience and opportunity, on the basis of the selection reserve list that can be used up to 12 months from the date of approval of the final ranking list, and for this purpose a "selection reserve list" is created, which corresponds to the final ranking list.10.Composition of the Selection Panel:President of the jury: Professor Doctor Marta Zulmira Carvalho dos Santos, Associate Professor, Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences of University of Porto;Members of the jury:Professor Doctor Isabel Rocha Pinto, Associate Professor with Aggregation, Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences of University of Porto;Doctor Cláudia Marisa Madureira Pereira, PhD Researcher, Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences of University of Porto;Substitute members:Professor Doctor Maria Alexandra de Sá Dias da Costa, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences of University of Porto;Professor Doctor João Carlos Pereira Caramelo, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences of University of Porto.
  • Waysof publicizing/notifying the results:
11.1. The final results will be announced by sending the minutes(s) via the email address indicated by the candidates in the CV/Motivation Letter.11.2. Candidates have a period of 10 working days from the day immediately following notification to give their opinion, if they so wish, at a prior hearing, in accordance with articles 121 et seq. of the Code of Administrative Procedure (CAP).11.3. The final decision must be taken no later than 60 working days after the conclusion of the prior hearing of interested parties or the public consultation.12. How to submit applications and deadline submission:12.1. The call is open until April 30th, 2024.12.2.   • Motivation letter written in English (indicating availability to start work and availability for short-term national travel);
  • A copy of the qualification certificate(s) (and the respective recognition of the academic degree(s), if obtained at a foreign higher education institution - to be provided by the time of recruitment), to prove compliance with the minimum admission requirement indicated in point 2(a) of this notice;
  • Proof of enrolment in a doctorate or, alternatively, in a non-degree course that is part of the educational project of a higher education institution, developed in association or cooperation with one or more R&D units, to prove compliance with the minimum admission requirement indicated in point 2 (b) of this notice (to be proved by the time of recruitment);
  • Proposal of work plan (max. 2 pages) to prove compliance with the minimum admission requirement indicated in point 2(d) of this notice;
  • Motivation letter reflecting the different curricular assessment criteria (point 9.2 of this notice);
  • Declaration of eligibility (attached);
  • Evidence of the experience and knowledge that constitute conditions of preference;
  • Any documents that candidates consider relevant for assessing their merit.
12.3. If the documents identified in points a) to i) above are not presented during the application process, candidates will be administratively excluded.12.4. Candidates may also attach other documents they consider relevant to the curricular assessment, as well as proof of enrolment in a doctoral program and proof of recognition of the academic degree (if applicable).12.5. The supporting documents must be attached directly to the application form, without using links to external platforms/drives. In order to ensure that all documents can be read, the preferred saving format is Portable Document Format (.pdf).13.
