The UKI Infrastructure and Platform team provide core services to our product and technology teams to enable them to have delivery and execution independence. As a Senior Platform Engineer in the Flutter UKI Infrastructure and Platform team, your role is crucial for maintaining and evolving the organisation's technology infrastructure to enhance our consumers enablement. Responsibilities include platform design, development and maintenance, system monitoring and optimisation, capacity planning, infrastructure automation, security and compliance, incident management and support, mentoring team members, and collaboration with areas outside of the team. The team functions as a 24/7 operational support unit with on-call availability.What You’ll Be DoingDemonstrates Excellent Knowledge of Infrastructure & Platforms Systems: Applies comprehensive understanding of group engineering systems management as key responsibility involves designing, implementing, and maintaining the Flutter UKI platform infrastructure. This includes both the development of new platforms and the enhancement of existing ones to meet evolving business needs.Driving Improvements: Proactively drive and contribute to opportunities to improve processes, adopt new technologies, and enhance the reliability, performance, and security of the platform, as well as contribute to the cloud cost management plansAutomation Contributor: Actively seeks and spearheads opportunities to implement automation solutions and practices to reduce reliance on manual processes, and promotes self serviceOwnership : Exhibit ownership of squad deliverables, demonstrating a sense of responsibility and accountability. Lead and take charge of a work stream or incident, including the creation and maintenance of all relevant documentation.Mentorship: Act as a mentor to other members in the squad, actively sharing knowledge and teaching skills.Role Modelling: Serve as a role model both behaviourally and in terms of capabilities, inspiring Associate/Graduate Engineers through their actions.Consistency: Demonstrate a highly performant delivery approach, providing a reliable and solid pair of hands in all tasks.Stakeholder Management: Exhibit comfort in engaging with non-technical stakeholders, showcasing effective communication and high-level engagement.Collaboration: Demonstrate effective communication and collaboration with other teams, such as development and operations.
