To learn more please visit http://www.convatecgroup.com.About the role:The Senior Financial Controller - Corporate Functions & T&I will be a key part of the Finance Control organization, working closely with the finance leadership team, Group Reporting team & other Group finance functions to understand and control the risks facing the organization, particularly financial, fiscal, reporting and fraud risks. The Senior Financial Controller will play a key role in ensuring the finance operating model works well, working closely with Convatec Business Service, CBS, to deliver robust financial processes and financial statements, and provide an expert escalation point to remove any blockers identified. Scope of work will include all controlling activities for the Group’s Head Office (non-commercial market) activities, global functions (including IT, T&I, HR etc), external and statutory reporting of the associated legal entities & dormant entities.Key Duties & Responsibilities:Lead & deliver required changes to financial processes, implementation of accounting standard changes in your jurisdiction and lead on financial aspects of system improvementsProvide expert IFRS and local GAAP accounting policy insights to ensure compliance to both business-as-usual processes in addition to adhoc material transactions or business changesPartner with CBS to provide financial insights and guidance to enabler delivery of financial statementsPartner with the Financial Control team and Global Process Owners to ensure the appropriateness and compliance with continuous improvement initiativesProvide expert support to stakeholders on the management of both internal and external audit requirementsEnsure activities across the finance teams in your jurisdiction are aligned to the finance operating model and lead on continuing to simplify & standardize activities, including liaising with the UK Financial Control & Reporting team for input to completion of the Convatec UK Limited statutory accountsBe an advocate and trusted partner of the CBS – ensure issues are resolved quickly and efficiently and be a change agent for standardization and simplificationSkills & Experience:Inquisitive natureAbility to lead on the management of complex & conflicting prioritiesSelf-starterConfident to interact with a wide range of stakeholders, including the ability to challenge where appropriate to ensure the best outcome is achievedStrong communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to quickly take complex and detailed information and provide an executive summary of the material aspectsA good understanding of end-to-end processes, ideally with experience of project accountingQualifications/Education:University level degree in Finance or similar business subject7+ years’ experience in working in a finance environment with preference in a multi-site global companyQualified accountant or similarPrincipal ContactsHead of Financial ReportingConvatec Business Services: Record to Report and Purchase to Pay and Order to cash towersOther global finance teams (Treasury, Reporting, Tax etc)Head office and T&I Finance Business PartnersTravel RequirementsInfrequent travel (~10%) including visits to any local Convatec office where applicable to liaise with any local finance and non finance colleague.
