Job Title: Senior OT/IIoT ConsultantLocation: Nelas, PortugalWork Regime: NegotiableOverview / Summary:We are looking for a Senior OT/IIoT Consultant to define the strategy and lead the implementation of data collection within the scope of Industry 4.0, focusing on calculating OEE% across a heterogeneous machine fleet (type, age, vendor) and integrating with the client’s MES in the textile sector.Responsibilities and Tasks:

Audit the equipment fleet (1970–2025; multiple brands) and map data points: stoppages, times/states, alarms, consumption, quantities, and speed/RPM.

Design the OT/IIoT strategy and connectivity architecture by machine family, including retrofitting when necessary.

Select and configure gateways/edge, PLCs, SCADA/Historian, and time-series databases for reliable data collection, source-side timestamping, and offline buffering.

Integrate data with the MES (API/DB), normalizing events/states and supporting OEE calculation.

Establish OT/IT security and networking best practices and support data governance.

Document solutions, train teams (Production, Maintenance, IT), and prepare Standard Operating Procedures for continuous operation.

RequirementsMandatory Requirements:

Education: Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Informatics (Industrial IT), or similar.

Experience: 5+ years in OT/IIoT with broad hands-on knowledge, including:

Industrial protocols & networks (e.g., OPC UA, Modbus RTU/TCP, Profibus/Profinet, EtherNet/IP; MQTT/Sparkplug)

OT tools/platforms: gateways/PLCs and edge (e.g., Kepware/KepserverEX, Ignition, Siemens Industrial Edge/IPC, Beckhoff/WAGO), SCADA/Historian, time-series DBs

Data integration: APIs/REST, SQL, ETL; production data modeling and event/state normalization

Retrofitting techniques (sensors/encoders, counters, reading and logging digital/analog signals)

Languages: Portuguese and/or English

Soft skills: Ability to communicate with Production/Maintenance/IT; stakeholder management.

Computer Vision in industrial environments

Security & networking

MES (API/DB integration) and definition of OEE KPIs
