Critical Software is the place to work; started in Portugal over 25 years ago, we have grown rapidly and now provide high quality software and solutions to multiple vertical markets working with high profile accounts such as Airbus, BMW, Alstom, Siemens, NASA and ESA just to mention a few.Now, we're looking for a talented Business Development Manager dedicated to Railway market in the Automotive, Railway and Medical Device (ARMS) division. As a company we have built a solid reputation for delivering high quality and premium value to our customers. The ideal candidate for this role will be a practical, disciplined and organized individual, able to work independently and efficiently on his/her own leads and accounts, with a primary focus on the DACH geography. You will develop compelling business proposals to address unique industry challenges which will then be presented to prospective clients.What will be your task!
  • Develop and maintain a detailed knowledge of the marketplace; lead generation and sales
  • Groom close relationships in the railway market in DACH
  • Generate sales through:
  • researching and identifying new contacts and leads
  • developing business development plans and market propositions
  • networking and utilizing social media e.g. LinkedIn
  • attending virtual and physical events to create leads and opportunities
  • Produce compelling propositions and closing deals
  • Plan, prepare and give presentations and capability demonstrations
  • Develop a geography strategy to increase business pipeline
What do we expect from you?
  • University degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field
  • Years of experience in business development of customized services and solutions
  • Knowledge and experience in the railway market is highly desirable
  • Understanding or interested in mission critical systems and software development
  • Strategic account management experience, with an understanding of the financial perspective
  • Contract management and negotiating skills
  • Consultative style, comfortable in networking, whilst also able to help peers
  • Excellent English and German skills to formulate and present technical requirements
  • Commitment to embark upon regular EU travel and occasional wider travel outside EU
