Valuing our people is what makes us one global team, with our colleagues’ safety at the heart of our organization.How to contribute to our visionFor Supplier Quality & Development Blades Commodity Team, we are looking for an experienced Supplier Quality and Development Engineer to ensure continuous focus on the qualification of suppliers and products. Supplier Quality, as a part of Corporate Procurement, has the overall responsibility for qualifying new suppliers and securing that all qualified suppliers consistently meet Siemens Gamesa’s system and product requirements as well as corporate responsibilities.What are my responsibilities?Qualifying Components
  • Performing component, process qualification
  • Continuously improve quality level of the components
  • Provide SQD input/ view to commodity strategy and sourcing decision
  • Lead customer PPAP reviews
  • Technical Support and Mitigation Actions on high risk components for urgent service demands
Component related NCR handling
  • Contribute to RCAs, 8Ds & CAPAs
  • Support regional / domestic topics (up to 10% of capacity)
  • Support Claim Management
New Product Development
  • Early SQD participation on R&D projects
  • Assuring specifications are feasible for manufacturing including Support of Manufacturing Innovation Center (MIC)
  • Support specification evolution via suppliers’ input
  • Quality Assurance on Prototype Parts
  • NCR handling during new/release projects and new suppliers
Supplier Development
  • Participate in Yearly Supplier Evaluation
  • Lead and Drive quality specific supplier development programs
  • Safe Launch programs with new suppliers/components
What you need to make a difference
  • You have a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering or an equivalent professional background, combined with quality experience in Wind industry (Blades manufacturing is Preferred).
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in a similar position
  • You have expert knowledge on Blades manufacturing process and relevant materials. You possess material sciences and related EN/ISO standard knowledge as well as a good EN/ISO understanding of drawings and specifications
  • Product and Process auditing experience, management system auditing experience with ISO 9001 or similar are mandatory. Candidates with a Lead Auditor examination will be preferred
  • Proven Experience in the areas of supplier development, implementing and performing APQP and PPAP activities will be preferred. Furthermore, certification within Lean and/or Six Sigma will be perceived as an advantage
  • You have strong interpersonal and communication skills and are capable of interfacing with numerous parties at all levels in a multicultural environment.
  • You possess excellent English (both orally and written) and IT skills, including SAP, MS office applications, etc.
  • Availability to travel between 40% or 60% of the time
  • This position is to be performed from Vagos in Portugal
