You are going to learn, support building, enhancing and evolving the next generation of our platform. This role is perfect for newly formed quality assurance engineers who love to work as a team whilst building elegant and simple solutions!As a Trainee QA engineer, you will learn that quality is the responsibility of the entire team. You will strive to learn to apply high standards, and you will always be looking out for areas that can be further improved. We are aiming for someone that intends to learn not only manual testing, but also how to create easily maintainable automated tests. The ideal candidate is an open-minded person that believes in life-long learning. They are curious and always searching for new tools and techniques to help the team deliver better outcomes for all stakeholders.You will be working on a particular set of micro-services with your team. Therefore, you will collaborate closely with clients and platforms that you depend on to ensure shared understanding of functionalities. Your tests written in Gherkin should be the guarantee of correctly functioning software in Production. They are also the living specification of our micro-services. We avoid manual testing on the path to Production since this slow down delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesFollow the QA strategy in place that meets the functional and non-functional requirements of key stakeholdersSupport on the needed compromises to ensure good testabilityFoster for QA to be present in an ongoing way throughout sprintsLearn how to balance value vs cost of testsPush for a QA mindset across the entire teamParticipate on both high-level and story point estimationsMonitor results of tests and ensure that all tests are passing before deployment in productionPerform exploratory testingUnderstand functional and non-functional test coverage and follow standards (including test-case design/execution, bug reporting)Foster for live documentation being maintained and understandable by less technical stakeholdersReport QA status of the teamFoster to identify risks and escalate issues in a timely mannerConstantly work to propose improvements to the QA processesLearn from other QA specialists and share knowledge, as well as understand best practices from the wider teamCapabilities and ExperienceThis role would suit anyone who wants to pursue the quality assurance domain and recognizes that automation is key to true agility at scaleSome academic experience in testing web applications and cloud servicesAcademic experience in writing Features and ScenariosAcademic experience in object-oriented programmingExperience in C# (.NET 6 preferably), Gherkin, and JavaScript is a plusBasic knowledge of SpecFlow, WebDriver, Fluent Assertions, xUnit, Living Documentation is a plusWill to report testing status and publishing Living DocumentationAwareness of RESt microservices, Docker and AzureAwareness of automation tools such as Cypress for UI testing is a plusWill to learn new Testing technologies and latest practices in the fieldLearn the concepts of Continuous Testing, Continuous Integration, version control with Git branching strategies and DevOpsGreat interpersonal and communications skills to be part of a team spread over multiple locationsActive learner and available to readily adapt to project needsAwareness of how to interpret testing requirementsOpen to bring people together to find a resolutionBSc in Computer Science is common but equivalent technical understanding through other means is also acceptableWhy join Kantar?We shape the brands of tomorrow by better understanding people everywhere.
