ABOUT IMPROVE
Improve International was established in 1998 by a group of veterinary surgeons from across the UK. We run Continuous Professional Development training from veterinary professionals to help develop the skills and knowledge required in practice.Our programmes utilise a combination of review lectures, case-based discussion and, where applicable, hands-on practical sessions. Within Improve we also have the function of 'The International School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies (ISVPS)'. This function is dedicated to providing veterinary surgeons, nurses and technicians with high quality, achievable qualifications that are recognised internationally. We are an international organisation with offices in the UK and Portugal.JOB PURPOSE
We are looking for a talented and experienced designer to join our fast-growing veterinary education company as Design Team Lead. Part of the marketing department, this role heads up our design department across multiple global brands, leading the team responsible for brand and creative across online and offline channels.The role will involve primarily working with key stakeholders to help deliver creative and engaging collateral for campaigns, initiatives and projects that help to educate and inspire veterinary professionals globally and to also help build internal and external brand advocacy.If you have a creative mind, great attention to detail, proven experience as project manager and / or art director along with loads of passion and enthusiasm, we would love to meet you and see your work!KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
You will be our brand advocate, responsible for ensuring consistent presentation of our different brands, working with the Marketing Director and marketing team to communicate a clear hierarchy and increase brand awareness in different countries across the world.As Design Team Lead you will lead concept creation and project management, from the initial brief process to final delivery - including supporting and supervising the design team daily.Our marketing channels include both online and offline, therefore you will be leading art direction across multi-channel campaigns, new products / propositions, events / exhibitions and within our training centres.Having strong stakeholder management skills is a must, as the Design Team Lead will collaborate closely with stakeholders from different teams and departments. In a fast-paced environment you need to be comfortable managing multiple priorities and supporting the design team with assignment of all creative requests. Alongside managing the team, this role will also be working on delivering design projects including course brochures/catalogues (both print and digital).As a leader you will also be focused on continual improvement and how we can optimise the team workflow, design processes whilst creating a rewarding team environment.EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
Degree or BA in graphic design, brand/communication design, art direction, multimedia design or similar
5 years of experience working as an Art director or Graphic Designer, and more than 1 year in a leadership role (either being a Design Manager or taking responsibility for a cross-functional team), which you can showcase with a portfolio or a case study
Creativity, efficiency and the highest quality and design standards
Experience of briefing/ debriefing, ideation, prototyping and producing multimedia content including print, large scale, web and video/motion
Self-motivated and resilient, able to solve problems and perform under pressure
Strong knowledge in offline and print projects as well as digital campaign projects
A strong, varied portfolio of well-executed design work, including projects art direction, case-studies and multi-platforms designs
Fluent in English both written and spoken
Excellent time management
Flexible working hours to meet deadlines
Ability to work within a fast-paced environment on multiple projects
Able to build relationships and communicate effectively
Experienced at coaching, mentoring and motivating individuals and teamsToolsAdvanced knowledge in editorial design (magazines, catalogues, leaflets, flyers)
Large experience designing large scale supports
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)The following would be beneficialAdvanced knowledge in editorial design (magazines, catalogues, leaflets, flyers)
