It's not about what you've done elsewhere; it's all about what you're capable of doing here.The Work You'll Do:The Senior Compliance Services Representative is responsible for ensuring that all VAT filings are accurately prepared by Associates and Representatives and all statutory deadlines are met for their assigned portfolio of clients. This role is expected to acquire and maintain a thorough understanding of their portfolio of clients to be able to predict and prevent any delays or errors as well as deliver an outstanding customer service experience to clients.This role will work closely with the Compliance Services Supervisor and Manager to provide day-to-day support to more junior members of their team as well as assist with their training. The Senior Compliance Representative is expected to effectively collaborate with other departments and colleagues to resolve issues as well as escalate any compliance risks to the Compliance Services Manager and/or Director.More specifically you will:
  • Approve VAT filings (and associated supporting documentation) for each assigned client as per internal procedures, within strict deadlines
  • Monitor client activities to ensure timely completion of compliance related tasks
  • Identify, prioritize, and resolve client compliance and other issues; coordinate appropriate internal departments to provide timely response and solutions
  • Provide assistance to Compliance Services Associates and Representatives in building domain expertise and resolving client issues; serves as subject-matter-expert
  • Work with clients and tax authorities to investigate complex issues and negotiate solutions
  • Escalate any compliance issues to Supervisors and Managers (i.e. incorrect tax treatment, late receipt of funds)
  • Efficiently collaborate with other specialist departments to ensure all deadlines are being met
  • Implement process improvement initiatives across the team
  • Develop re-usable client process documentation
  • Supports team members in their ongoing training and collaborates internally on developing and improving training sessions
  • Maintain goals and key measures to ensure progress and alignment with desired business outcomes for clients
  • Ensure compliance with applicable taxing authorities and client-specified procedures by adhering to internal policies and procedures
  • Assist management team in tracking team activities to ensure timely and accurate completion of departmental goals
  • Give recommendations and offer ideas and feedback to management and product teams to generate new and innovative ideas for ongoing company improvements and enhancements
  • Ensures internal policies and procedures are adhered to based on established guidelines
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
What We Need From You:
  • Studying towards AAT / CTA or other relevant accounting / taxation qualification preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work-related experience preferred
  • 3+ years of client service-related work experience
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and other MS Office products
  • Excellent time management, decision making, and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and professional communication skills
  • Ability to work as a member of a team and cross-functionally
  • Detail oriented and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
