In 2024, Continental generated preliminary sales of €39.7 billion and currently employs around 190,000 people in 55 countries and markets.Job DescriptionWe are looking for a highly skilled Backend Developer (m/f/d) with expertise in Java (Spring Boot) to work within Continental’s eCommerce, Fleet Solutions, and Data Science Information Technology Competence Center. In this role, you will join the global team working on Cesar, our digital fleet management platform.If you’d love to join an international crowd that works on the latest technologies and creates state-of-the-art solutions, Continental is the perfect match for you.Main Responsibilities:

Shaping the backend architecture of the CESAR web application;
Implementing features through active collaboration with business partners;
Providing support of the productive system by solving bugs;
Driving development standards, code reuse, and agile principles within the agile development team;
Enhancing the technical documentation and our test scenarios.

Qualifications

University Degree in Computer Science, IT or related field;
+ 2 years of professional experience in backend development with Java (11+) and Spring Boot;
Experience with microservices architectures and distributed systems;
Strong knowledge of databases (PostgreSQL);
Experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus;
Knowledge of cloud environments such as AWS or Azure is beneficial;
Proficiency in Git, CI/CD tools and agile methodologies (Scrum);
Experience with security best practices for backend development and API security;
Willingness to travel (up to 10%, incl. business);
Analytical mindset and good problem-solving skills;
Excellent written and verbal communication in English;
Good organizational skills.
