- Ensure prompt and courteous service is extended to both internal and external customers.
- Ensure the achievement of sales objectives on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis
- Handle all golf enquiries by past business/ sales team. Ensure golf clients are provided with complete and accurate information on hotel.
- Practice effective revenue/yield management to include wise negotiations of room rate and green fees.
- Adhere to all policies regarding space release to ensure the effective and profitable ratio for golf events.
- Maintain a working knowledge of the operation and service capabilities of all other hotel department as they relate to golf events.
- To handle specific golf events as identified by DOSM
- Follow through with information distributed to operational department to ensure that it is understood and able to carry out in a manner which the client expects.
- Serve as a liaison with the client and operational colleagues to communicate any change or needs that may spontaneously arise whilst the event is occurring.
- At the conclusion of each event, work hand in hand with the finance department to guarantee a detailed and complete final bill is sent.
- Responsible for the golf segments such as: Travel Agencies, Tour Operators, wholesalers, Luxury Programs, Tour Groups and main corporate accounts.
- Establish parameters, quotes and negotiate prices, confirming by written contracts.
- Maintains a high level of exposure for the Golf & Hotel in major market areas participating in Golf tradeshows, Golf conventions, and promotional events within the hotel and Golf trade related organizations.
- Develop business leads using a variety of prospecting techniques such as cold calling, direct mail, trade shows, sales promotions, telemarketing, etc.
- Nurture to maintain key accounts, contact, activity and business details within the appropriate software applications.
- Closely follows up on all business leads within a 24-hour response timeline to clients.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports, as required.
- Conduct competitor surveys and recommend strategies based on market intelligence.
- Follow departmental policies and procedures.
- Responsible for key account management on an assigned geographic area, ensuring revenue maximization, achievement of personal targets and increasing fair market share versus competitor set.
- Developing new accounts in the growing markets
- Lead and organized site inspections.
- Detailed knowledge of all services provided by the hotel and all relevant fact and figures.
- Balance operational, administrative and Colleague needs
- Proven 3 years' experience in sales, preferably within golf, hospitality, or leisure industry.
- Fluency in Portuguese & English verbally and in written; additional languages are an asset.
- University/College degree in a related discipline preferred.
- Strong understanding of golf industry trends and customer preferences
- Proficient in financial systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
