The HyLab involves valuable national and international R&D institutes, academia, industry companies, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), start-ups, and hydrogen-related technology manufacturing industries.
We are looking for a Lead Researcher to coordinate the Separation and Conversion Processes R&D and Innovation Line. This line focuses on developing technologies for the purification and separation of hydrogen and other gaseous streams within its value chain, and the conversion processes of hydrogen into other energy carriers and sustainable fuels. The Lead researcher will report to the Executive Director.
You will be challenged with:
Coordinate the Research and Innovation Line and the respective team within the scientific-technological area;Monitoring and guidance of the team members (research fellows, students, and trainees), guaranteeing the quality of the technical-scientific work produced, and compliance with deadlines and budget;Ensure the dissemination and transfer of knowledge to other members of the organization, with particular attention to the economic exploitation of R&I results;Boost the production of new technology developments and technical-scientific knowledge aimed to be exploited and disseminated (patents, articles, books, conferences);Collaborate with HyLab’s Management and Scientific Coordination, in the report of the activities, refinement of the Research and Innovation Agenda, and proposing new strategic development initiativesDesign Research, Development, and Innovation programs and translate them into projects, proposals and funding applications (with the support of the business development area)Act with a high level of autonomy and decision-making alongside partners and clients, capturing development opportunities and strategic partnersPerform research, development, and innovation activities, as well as all other scientific and technical activities within the HyLab mission;Collaborate with adjacent Lines of Research and Innovation within HyLab.Who are we looking for:
PhD in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.At least five years of research experience, and a minimum of three years as a Research Project Manager.Proven ability to coordinate and lead multidisciplinary R&D teams.Broad and solid understanding of chemical processes, especially in gas purification, separation, and conversion.Hands-on experience in laboratory activities, particularly with adsorption and/or reaction process apparatuses, ideally at system-level scale.Proficiency in chemical process modelling software such as gPROMS or Aspen Plus.Experience in collaboration with industry partners will be considered an asset.English proficiency at C1 level or higher (spoken and written).Why join us:
