This role is critical in ensuring that fit-for-purpose systems and tools are in place to support the maintenance team in delivering high-quality outcomes. You will be responsible for designing, reviewing, and improving maintenance systems and procedures, as well as leading and performing hands-on maintenance tasks across mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical domains. You will collaborate closely with site supervisors, planners, and mechanics to interpret results, analyze trends, and recommend corrective actions. This role also involves contributing to the Manufacturing Engineers Community of Practice to share best practices and drive continuous improvement.What you will be doingAs a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for:
Periodic maintenance reporting, including lost MCU availability analysis
Compliance reviews of plant inspection routines and procedures
Collaborating with site teams to interpret results and inform maintenance plans
Analyzing trends and recommending corrective actions under Orica's Management of Change framework
Reviewing and improving systems and tools for maintenance operations
Updating maintenance plans to align with Orica standards, local regulations, and client requirements
Optimizing current operating maintenance procedures for plant efficiency
Leading and performing maintenance tasks on-site (mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical)
Execution of technical maintenance tasks in underground environment
Conducting Job Cycle Checks (JCC) and Safety Leadership Interactions (SLI)
Updating technical drawings and documenting equipment changes
Participating in the Manufacturing Engineers Community of Practice to share and adopt best practices
What you will bring
Engineering qualification with strong mechanical skills
0-5 years of experience in maintenance, technical operations, or relevant fields
Knowledge of on-site technologies and high-risk operational environments
Experience managing multiple operating units and contributing to team development
Proficiency in CAD, SAP, and Microsoft Office
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work collaboratively across teams and lead maintenance activities
Commitment to safety and continuous improvement
Fluency in English and Portuguese
