Professional | Full-Time | EngineeringBlade Materials & Sustainability is a global team within Vestas' Blades R&D organization. We are responsible for the full lifecycle of blade materials-from the development and qualification of new composite materials to ensuring a robust and sustainable supply chain.We are now seeking a Assistant Lead Materials Engineer focused on composite materials, such as glass fiber, carbon fiber, and resin systems, to help enhance innovation and performance in our blade technologies.Responsibilities * Define and maintain material specifications to meet blade design and manufacturing requirements.

Implement the introduction and qualification of composite materials (e.g., glass fiber, carbon fiber, resins) to improve blade performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
Conduct laboratory characterization and production-scale testing of composite materials.
Collaborate with global cross-functional teams to ensure effective material integration.
Implement engineering changes in line with Vestas' ECM process.
Maintain and update the Vestas Blade Materials Database with high-quality data.
Deliver material work packages for blade technology and new product development projects.

Qualifications * Degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field (BSc, MSc, MEng).

Demonstrated experience in working with composite materials and their processing methods, such as infusion, prepreg, and curing.
Familiarity with APQP and PPAP processes.
Knowledge of FMEA and Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt certification is a plus).
Experience in coordinating technical teams and delivering results in a project environment.

Competencies * Deep technical understanding of composite materials, especially glass and carbon fiber systems.

Proficient communication and collaboration skills.
Fluent in English (spoken and written).
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively amid changing circumstances.
Commitment to sustainability and innovation in materials engineering.
