Start your future with BorgWarner now!Job purposeResponsible for implement, support, and/or manage Global Supplier Development strategies and performance to ensure flawless launches of new programs. Responsibilities will include leading APQP process as part of new product launches, coordinate technical review, and develop supplier capabilities to meet BW requirements. Responsibilities will also include conducting Supplier Quality Training at the suppliers and drive performance improvements at the supplier to meet established objectives.LocationViana do Castelo plant, PortugalRESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:Lead APQP process as part of new product launches and supplier resourcing actions;Coordinate technical reviews and supplier assessments;Develop supplier capabilities to meet BW requirements;Conduct Supplier Quality Training at Suppliers;Drive performance improvements to established objectives at Suppliers;Coordinate cross functional technical problem resolution at Supplier sites;Scope of position will include a wide range of difficult problems;Follow established procedures and work to identify best practices;Review of work is based on technical judgment, overall adequacy and accuracy at predefined milestones;Recognized expert in a particular commodity and/or process (desired);Provide input into commodity strategy;Drive business process improvements;Scope of position will include a wide range of difficult and complex problems;Work is assigned in terms of objectives;Review of work results is based on objectives at predetermined milestones;Other duties as needed.Qualification Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering in related area required,
Master’s degree desired.
3-5 years of Quality and/or Process Engineering experience in the automotive industry or related field.
Knowledge in manufacturing problem solving (8-D Methodology) and manufacturing processes required with emphasis on Six Sigma (DMAIC) methods.
Knowledge of QS-9001/IATF 16949 requirements including APQP and PPAP required.
Knowledge of SPC required.
Effective at defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and/or Concrete variables.
Proficient at developing trip reports, general business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Effective presentation skills and ability to respond to questions from management and/or customers.
Proficient in Microsoft Word Excel, Outlook, Lotus Notes, Minitab and PowerPoint.
Six Sigma certification highly desired.
Good English language skills (spoken and written).
Proficiency level Portuguese (spoken and written).
