Our diverse workforce is our greatest strength, fostering success and inclusivity.Job DescriptionAs a Backend Developer at TD SYNNEX EU Services Team, your role is pivotal in leveraging your expertise to develop the next generation of financing and device lifecycle systems to enable our business and consumer reseller customers to provide financing and other services to their customers. Your responsibilities will span from analyzing requirements to designing, building, testing, implementing, and supporting corrections or enhancements.This role involves work on different projects involving B2B and B2C platforms mainly building finance applications and platforms for resellers, who use TD SYNNEX's services.What you'll do:Bridge the Gap: Analyze business needs across domains, translating them into impactful system designs. Document everything clearly for seamless implementation.Architect & Engineer: Develop robust business applications adhering to architectural standards, methodologies, and best practices. Ensure adherence to corporate coding and configuration standards.Collaborative Spirit: Working with an Agile methodology foster strong relationships with customers and partners to integrate activities and deliver exceptional support. Participate in retrospectives to identify improvement opportunities.What we're kindly looking for:Solid knowledge of Java (OOP principles, core APIs, error handling, clean coding practices).Proficiency in SQL (complex queries, joins, indexing, query optimization).Understanding of backend fundamentals: HTTP, REST, client-server architecture, data serialization (JSON/XML).Basic knowledge of database design, transactions.Familiarity with version control (Git) and collaborative workflows.Ability to debug, troubleshoot, and maintain existing systems.Strong problem-solving and analytical skillsNice-to-Have (Preferred)Experience working without heavy frameworks or adapting to custom in-house frameworks.Familiarity with build tools (Maven/Gradle).Exposure to unit testing and integration testing practices.Awareness of security basics (SQL injection prevention, input validation).Understanding of performance tuning (Java optimization, SQL profiling).Familiar with Microsoft SQL, Jersey, GSON, Java Reflection API, Tomcat.Some exposure to frontend integration (React) and API consumption.Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.What We Offer:Hybrid with 2 days at the office every month.Location: Porto Oceanus, Portugal.Competitive compensation with regular annual salary reviews.Benefits like health insurance, paid leave, retirement plans, and more…Meal allowance 9,25€ per day worked.Access to the Tech Data Plus platform – a platform for discounts on various products, such as clothing, restaurants, hotels, travel, etc…#LI-HYBRID#LI-MC2Key Skills Collaborating, Java, Teamwork, Working IndependentlyWhat’s In It For You?
