- Conduct finite element modeling of damage in composite wind turbine blades.
- Establish quantitative relationships between non-destructive testing (NDT) results and damage criticality.
- Assess the variability in manufacturing defects/imperfections for monitoring structural well-being.
- Understand the requirements and constraints affecting the implementation of digital twin hardware and software in large-scale wind turbines.
- Lead the validation trials for technology mirroring wind turbine functionality on a grand scale, encompassing planning and instrumentation.
- Publish high-quality research papers in international journals and present results at conferences and symposiums.
- A Master's (120 ECTS points) or a similar qualification equivalent to a two-year master's.
- A strong background in one or more core technical fields: mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, physics engineering, structural engineering, solid mechanics, or related fields.
- Solid experience with finite element simulations of composite materials and structures.
- Strong understanding of sensors, non-invasive evaluation, and techniques for monitoring structural integrity.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and oral.
