- Delivery of all legal services (directly and using external resources, where approved) for the zone.
- Oversight and delivery of all legal services in domestic and international bids with a specific focus on commercial contract review, strong collaboration and coordination with the Legal Team in the Region.
- Providing quality and timely legal advice to the business on a day-to-day basis in areas such as:
- (a) Leased & property matters
- (b) Competition law
- (c) General Commercial transactions
- (d) M&A
- (e) Employment and safety
- (f) Product and quality issues
- Operating as a valued and integral member of the GLD and as a key business partner to provide high-quality legal services and strategic legal support and advice.
- Negotiating contracts and deals on behalf of the company.
- Supporting the Compliance Central team by implementing internal governance policies, policy read-proofing, and investigations on ethical concerns & misconduct in Portugal.
- Claims & Litigation oversight & reporting.
- Regular travel within Portugal.
- Occasional travel to other locations in Europe as business needs require.
- Travel may include some overnight stays.
- A fully qualified lawyer authorized to practice in Portugal with a Master of Laws degree or equivalent and at least eight (8) years' relevant PQE in commercial law (with a focus on indirect/channel/reseller business), preferably in a Hi-tech, Oil & Energy, Construction or Renewables & Environment sector.
- Native in Portuguese and fluent in English (written and verbal), with strong technological skills.
- Confident with fantastic interpersonal skills, commercially minded, highly organized, and able to work effectively in teams.
- Able to work independently and manage large volumes of work.
