- Drive the technical roadmap in collaboration with product and platform teams, aligning with company objectives and improving developer velocity.
- Familiarize yourself with other internal platform teams to identify areas of shared benefit and drive execution of the delivery of a variety of features and functionality that abstracts away common workloads which enable Datadog engineers to bring new products to market quickly, ultimately being an enabler for revenue generation.
- Understand the broader business context to align technical decisions with business goals, supporting long-term objectives and driving innovation.
- Make data-driven, user-focused decisions to solve ambiguous problems, impacting the velocity of hundreds of engineers.
- A seasoned software engineer with experience building developer tools and customer-facing products, with experience designing and building a variety of backend and distributed systems
- A technical people manager who has a bias towards action, user-centric iterative delivery, and understanding technical debt to focus on what matters most
- A proven leader with the ability to manage team dynamics, set goals, provide feedback, and foster a positive and productive work environment
- A capable project manager who can plan, organize, and oversee multiple software engineering projects
- An excellent communicator who is comfortable interacting with team members, stakeholders, and upper management alike
